Renewed Witness Appeal - Fatal road traffic collision M50 Dublin 14th March 2015

Gardai in Terenure investigating the single vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the M50 in the early hours of Saturday the 14th March 2015, wish to renew their appeal for witnesses.

The collision happened on the South bound side of the M50 between the Ballymount Junction (Junction 10) and Tallaght Junction (Junction 11). A male in his 60’s was fatally injured when the car he was travelling in (passenger) left the road and collided with a barrier. The female driver was taken to Tallaght Hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

 
Gardai wish to renew their appeal for witnesses to this collision who may have been travelling South or North bound between Junction 10 and 11 at approximately 00:45 on Saturday the 14th of March 2015 to contact Terenure Garda Station on 01- 6666400, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Gardaí are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the M50 motorway, Dublin this morning, Saturday 14th March 2015.

The collision occurred on the M50 motorway Southbound between junctions 10, Ballymount and 11, Tallaght at approximately 00.45am, 14th March 2015. The car involved left the road and collided with a lamp-post and protective barrier.The car then overturned before landing on its side.
 
A male passenger, 62 years, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at scene. His body was taken to Tallaght Hospital where a post mortem is to be arranged.
 
The driver of the car, a woman aged 60 years, was also taken to Tallaght Hospital with serious injuries. Her condition is described as being critical.
 
They were the only occupants of the vehicle. No other injuries were reported.
 
A section of the M50 motorway was closed for a period of time to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. It has since reopened.
