Murder investigation into the death of Silvestras Stoskus - Discovery of body in Broadford, Kildare on the 18/3/15

Gardaí in Leixlip investigating the death of 20 year old Silvestras Stoskus have begun a murder investigation following the post mortem which was carried out on his body earlier today.

The results of the post mortem are not been disclosed for operational reasons.

 
Gardai in Leixlip are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have seen or spoken to Silvestras Stoskus between the 8th of March 2015 and the 18th March 2015 or may have seen suspicious activity between those dates at either Bun Daire, Kinnegad or Broadford, Co. Gardaí in Leixlip are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body of a male in Broadford, Co. Kildare, shortly before 3.30pm on the 18th March 2015.


The man’s body was removed from the scene to Naas General Hospital where a post-mortem examination is currently being carried out by the State Pathologist, Dr. Marie Cassidy.

The deceased has been formally identified as 20-year-old Silvestras Stoskus, missing from his home at Bun Daire, Kinnegad, since the 8th March 2015.

The course of the investigation will be determined by the outcome of the post-mortem.

 
Enquiries are ongoing and further updates will follow.

The body of the man discovered in a field at Cornnmucklagh, Broadford, Co Kildare has been removed to the Mortuary at Naas General Hospital.

A full Post Mortem examination will take place tomorrow morning (Thursday 19th March 2015)

The scene is currently the subject of a Garda Technical Examination.

The body remains at the scene which is being preserved for a Garda Technical Examination.

The State Pathologist Professor Marie Cassidy has been notified and will shortly arrive at the scene.
