Witness Appeal - Stabbing incidents in Dublin City on the 27/6/15

Gardaí at Pearse Street are appealing for witnesses following two stabbing incidents in Dublin city centre on Saturday 27th June 2015.

At approximately 7.30pm a male aged in his mid 20’s was approached and assaulted by a group of youths on Fleet Street. He sustained stab injuries to his side and face during the incident. He was removed by ambulance to St. James Hospital where he continues to receive treatment. His condition is not believed to be life threatening.

In a second incident, a short time later, a male aged in his early 30s was approached and assaulted by two males outside a night club on Cope Street. The man fled from his assailants onto Anglesea St. where he sustained a number of stab wounds to his abdomen and face. He was also removed by Ambulance to St James Hospital. His condition is understood to be serious.

 
Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact the incident room at Pearse St. Garda Station. No arrests have been made to date and Gardaí are continuing to review CCTV in the area as one of a number of lines of enquiry. Technical and forensic examinations at each of the scenes have been completed.
