Male arrested - Fatal road traffic collision at Ferns, Wexford on the 12/1/15

Gardai in Enniscorthy investigating a two vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the N11 at Ballylough, Ferns at approximately 10.30pm on the 12th January 2015 arrested a 16 year old male in connection with the incident.

 He was arrested Friday the 23rd Jan and detained under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended. He was released without charge on Sunday the 25th January 2015 and a file is prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Gardai in Enniscorthy are investigating a two vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the N11 at Ballylough, Ferns last night at approximately 10.30pm.

An 81 year old male was fatally injured when the car he was driving was involved in a collision with a second vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body removed to Wexford General Hospital. The female passenger in her 50’s was brought Wexford General Hospital with injuries described as serious.  The two occupants of the second car failed to remain at the scene.

The N11 between Scarawalsh and Ferns  is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
