Seizure of cannabis at Rhode, Offaly on the 4/2/15

One male (50 years), was arrested and is currently detained at Tullamore Garda Station under the provisions Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 as amended.

As part of an ongoing operation into the illegal sale and supply of controlled drugs in Offaly and surrounding areas Gardaí from Tullamore and Edenderry  Garda Stations and supported by the Eastern Region Regional Support Unit, a house was searched at Coolcor, Rhode Co Offaly on the 4th February 2015. During the course of the search Gardai seized 300 cannabis plants with an approximate street value of €240,000, pending analysis.

Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities. Drug seizures also help protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs and the associated criminality.
