As part of an on-going intelligence led operation targeting the illegal sale and supply of controlled drugs in West Dublin, Gardaí at Ronanstown have seized cocaine with an estimated value of €140,000, pending analysis.

The seizure, 2 kilos of suspected cocaine, was made during the planned search of a premises in Lucan on Wednesday evening, 4th February 2015 at approximately 7pm.

A woman, 20 years, was arrested at scene and detained at Ronanstown Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 as amended. She has since been released from Garda custody without charge. A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

These operations use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks. Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities.
