Arrest - Fatal road traffic collision in Wexford on the 12/1/15

Gardaí at Enniscorthy investigating the fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the N11 at Ballylough, Ferns on the 12/01/15 have arrested a man in his 30's in the Wicklow Town area this morning, 9th February 2015.

He is currently detained at Enniscorthy Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Gardai in Enniscorthy are investigating a two vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the N11 at Ballylough, Ferns last night at approximately 10.30pm.

An 81 year old male was fatally injured when the car he was driving was involved in a collision with a second vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body removed to Wexford General Hospital. The female passenger in her 50’s was brought Wexford General Hospital with injuries described as serious. The two occupants of the second car failed to remain at the scene.

The N11 between Scarawalsh and Ferns is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
