Armed robbery and arrests in Co. Kerry on the 16/2/15

Gardaí from Listowel have arrested five males following an armed robbery in Tarbert, Co. Kerry, on Monday 16th February 2015.

At approximately 4.05pm two males entered Tarbert Post Office armed with a hand gun and bat. They threatened staff before escaping with a small amount of cash. They made their escape in a Black Mitsubishi Colt which was discovered burnt out nearby a short time later. No shots were fired and no one was physically injured during the incident.

During a search and arrest operation yesterday (19/2/2015) investigating Gardaí arrested five males (all aged in their late teens and early 20s). They are currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939 at number of Garda Stations in the Kerry Division.
