Drug Seizure Finglas West 1st April, 2015

As part of an ongoing operation into the illegal sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Finglas West area of Dublin, Gardaí from the Finglas District Drugs Unit seized cocaine with an estimated value of €15,000 pending analysis.

The drugs were discovered following the planned search of a house on Ratoath Drive, Finglas West, Dublin yesterday evening, Wednesday 1st April, 2015 at approximately 6pm.
Two men, (mid 20s & juvenile) and one woman (juvenile) were arrested at scene and were detained at Finglas Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996. All three persons were released this evening and a file will be prepared to the Garda Office for Children & Youth Affairs and a file to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
These operations use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks. Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities. Drug seizures also help protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs and the associated criminality.
