Witness appeal - Assault on Aston Quay, Dublin on the 24/9/14

Gardaí are investigating the serious assault of a 33 year old man which occurred on Aston Quay, Dublin 2, at approximately 9.30pm Wednesday 24th September 2014.

The injured man was taken to Saint James’ Hospital where his condition is described as critical.

 
It is believed that the incident occurred on the roadway on Aston Quay. The suspect is a man in his 20’s/30’s, well built with dark hair. He was wearing a light coloured t-shirt, grey hoody top with white writing on the front and grey tracksuit bottoms. Prior to the attack the suspect removed his hoody and t-shirt and put them back on following the incident.
 

The suspect left the area in the direction of Westmoreland Street in the company of two other males who were wearing dark tracksuits, (not better described). 
 

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information, particularly those who were in the vicinity of Aston Quay/Westmoreland Street between 9.15 and 9.45pm 24th September 2014 to contact them at Pearse Street Garda Station on 01 6669000, The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.
