Renewed Appeal - Serious assault investigation in Dublin on the 23/9/14

Gardaí at Kevin Street Garda Station are making a renewed appeal for witnesses to a serious assault at School Street, Dublin 8, which occurrred on Tuesday 23rd September 2014 at approximately 7.50am.

A woman in her 40's sustained a number of stab wounds and was seriosuly injured. A man in his 40's was arrested a short time later and has since being charged in relation to this incident.
 

Investigating Gardaí are particularly interested in speaking to any taxi or hackney drivers who were working in the Dublin 8 area at that time; especially if a taxi or hackney driver picked up a man on the streets in the vicinity of Marrowbone Lane/James Street at approximately 7:55am and dropped the man off in the Phibsboro area a short time later.
 

The man is described as being approximately 5'7" in height, late 40's, stocky build with grey hair and a grey goatee beard, and was wearing dark clothing.

A male aged in his 40s is expected to appear before a sitting of Dublin District Court, Criminal Courts of Justice 4 later this morning (24/9/2014) charged in connection with this investigation.

Gardaí in Kevin Street are appealing for witnesses to a serious assault which occurred in School Street, Dublin 8 on the 23rd September 2014.

Shortly before 8am a female aged in her 40's sustained a number of stab wounds during an incident in the stairwell of the flat complex. The injured woman was taken by ambulance to St. James’s Hospital. (Her condition is understood to be critical but stable.)

A male aged in his 40's was arrested by Gardaí a short time later. He is currently detained at Kevin Street Garda station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. The scene is preserved for a technical examination and Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
