At approximately 9am on the 30th May 2014, as a part of an ongoing investigation, Gardaí from Belmullet Garda Station carried out a search operation at a house near Bangor Erris, Co. Mayo.

During the search 30 Cannabis plants (at various stages of growth) were seized along with a large drying chamber, fertiliser and liquid feed.  The estimated street value of the plants seized is €40,000 (pending analysis).

These operations use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks. Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities. Drug seizures also help protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs and the associated criminality.
