Fire Cannery Road Carlow Town 27th December 2014

Gardaí and emergency services are at the scene of a fire which began at approximately 4.30pm this evening, Saturday 27th December 2014 at a disused factory located on Cannery Road, off the N80, Carlow Town. The road is currently closed between the Dr. Cullen and Athy Road roundabouts. Diversions are in place.

As a matter of precaution residents in the immediate vicinity of the fire, Cannery Road, Oak Park, Oak Lawns, Deer Park, Hazelwood and the Athy Road are requested to remain indoors and keep windows and doors shut, due to large plumes of smoke created by the fire. No evacuation has been ordered.
