Fatal road traffic collision on the N52, Kells, Meath on the 14/8/14

Gardaí at Kells are investigating a two vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred this morning at 10.30a.m. Thursday 14th August 2014 at the townland of Johnsbrook on the N52 on the Mullingar Rd out of Kells (known locally as Lynch's Cross).

A male driver, 46 years, was fatally injured when the van he was driving collided with a lorry. He was pronounced dead at scene and has been removed to Navan Hospital. A post mortem is to be arranged.

The male lorry driver, 66 years, was taken to Navan Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The Forensic Collision Investigators are en route and the road is currently closed and local diversions are in place.
