Fatal road traffic collision in Co. Donegal on the 6/8/14

Gardai at Donegal Town Garda station are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred in Donegal on the 6th August 2014.

The collision between two cars occurred at approximately 3.30pm on the Donegal town to Ballybofey Road at Mullanalanphry (approximately 7km outside Donegal town). The sole occupant, a male in his early 80's in one car was seriously injured and pronounced dead at the scene and taken to Letterkenny hospital. The sole occupant of the second car a female (64 years) was also taken to Letterkenny General Hospital where her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

 
The road has been closed for a Forensic Collision examination and diversions in place.
