Gardaí at Newcastle West in Co Limerick are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision which occurred at Ballyphillip, Banogue, Co Limerick (N20) at approximately 11.50pm last night (17/8/14).
A 25 year old male driver (only occupant) was fatally injured when the car he was driving collided with a pole. He was taken to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick where a Post Mortem will take place.
The road is currently closed to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
Local diversions are in place.
