Gardaí at Mayfield are appealing for further information following a road traffic collision on Thomas Davis St in the Blackpool area of Cork city, on Wednesday 6th August 2014.
At approximately 9.15pm on the above date a 12-year old male pedestrian was seriously injured when he was struck by a car on Thomas Davis St.. He was taken by ambulance to the Mercy University Hospital. The vehicle involved in the incident failed to remain at the scene. This vehicle has since been located and is the subject of a Garda Forensic Examination.
