Cork Crime Prevention Day on the 30th October, 2013

The launch of the Cork Crime Prevention Day will take place tomorrow Wednesday, the 30th October, 2013 at 11am in the City Hall, Concert Hall from 10am to 6pm and will officially be launched by the Commissioner of An Garda Siochana, Martin Callinan.

Both the Lord Mayors of Cork City and Cork County will also be present.

• 2.45 pm "Muintir Na Tira” Community Alert
• 3.15 pm "Theft from Cars”

This free Exhibition will provide the public with an opportunity to visit stands provided by the Security Industry Professionals who will focus on all aspects of security including Home Security. Running in parallel will be presentations made by experts in various areas of security and community engagement. This Exhibition will be the first of its kind to take place in Cork.

It is in an effort to highlight Crime Prevention and reduce the fear of Crime in Cork. This exhibition is hosted by An Garda Síochána in Cork City and County, and the Cork City and County Joint Policing Committee. It will focus on all aspects of Crime Prevention and will include exhibitors with stands from the security industry explaining the most modern and effective way to protect your home, farm, boat and other property. Alarms, locks, safes, oil tanks, CCTV and access control, will all be included. How do you keep your mobile phone and bicycle safe, and how do you stay safe on the Internet. Meet the Crime Prevention Officers at the Garda Stand and clarify any concerns around your home or personal security.

Parking can be accessed at the City Car Park, Eglantine Street Cork, next to City Hall and admission is free to seminar.
