Gardaí at Mullingar are investigating an incident which occurred on the M4, one km from Kinnegad on the eastbound lane at approximately 4pm yesterday (Monday 24th June 2013).
It appears from initial investigations that a car (believed to be a dark coloured Opel Zafira) caught fire at the above location. Gardaí and Fire personnel responded to the call. A man believed to be in his early 50’s was found deceased in the car.
Investigating officers are appealing to motorists who may have seen this car drive in an erratic manner on the M4 yesterday afternoon or who may have information pertaining to the incident to contact the Gardaí at Mullingar 044-9384000, the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
