Incident on the M1 - 10th July 2013

Gardaí arrested three men following an incident on the M1 at approximately 5.30pm this evening (10/7/13)

Gardaí intercepted a car which they believe had been involved in criminal activity earlier in the day in Northern Ireland. A number of Garda cars were damaged during the incident which resulted in the M1 being closed southbound at the M50 junction for a number of hours to facilitate the investigation.

Three men were arrested at the scene and are currently detained at Ballymun Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4- Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Investigations are continuing.
