Guidelines for "Making a Victim Impact Statement" 5th July, 2013

The Garda Commissioner Martin Callinan along with the Minister for Justice, Equality and Defence Mr. Alan Shatter and the Director of Public Prosecutions, Ms. Claire Loftus will jointly launch Guidelines entitled ‘Making a Victim Impact Statement’.

The launch will take place at 11a.m. on Monday the 8th of July, at the Officer's Club, Garda Headquarters, Phoenix Park.  

The Guidelines have also been endorsed by the Judiciary and the Court Service. Also present at the launch will be other Criminal Justice agencies including the Victims of Crime Office, the Probation Service as well as representatives of various victim support organisations.

The joint launch of the Guidelines will stress the important place that victims have within the criminal justice system and the continuing efforts to ensure their needs are met.

Following the launch a photo opportunity will be provided.
