Two arrests - Incident in Limerick on the 26/1/13

Gardaí in Roxboro Road arrested two men in relation to an incident which occurred late on Saturday night 26th January 2013 in Limerick.

A taxi driver picked up two men at approximately 10.20pm on St. Nessans Road and drove to Russell Court. The men then requested to be taken to Sixmilebridge and then onwards to Cratloe Woods.

At Cratloe Woods, one of the men produced a knife, threatened the taxi driver and demanded to be taken to Limerick City. The taxi driver was instructed to exit the vehicle at Dooradoyle. The men then drove the vehicle in the direction of Garyown Rugby Club. The taxi driver was not physically injured.
 
Two men (both in their late teens) were arrested yesterday, Sunday 27th January 2013, in relation to the incident. They are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Roxboro Road Garda Station.
 
The taxi was recovered.
