Update 2 - Fatal Shooting Finglas 15th December 2013

A man aged in his 20s has been arrested this morning (16/12/2013) following yesterday’s fatal shooting incident on Ballycoolin Road.

He is currently detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007, at Blanchardstown Garda Station.

 
Gardai are continuing to detain a male (20s) and a female (30s) arrested yesterday evening (15/12/2013). They are both detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007, at Finglas Garda Station. 
 

A technical examination of the scene is continuing.

They are currently detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007, at Finglas Garda Station. (They can be held for up to 7-days)

Gardai in Finglas are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on the Ballycoolin Road at approximately 5pm this evening.

A male in his 40’s was shot on the road by a lone gunman. The injured male was taken to Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown where he was pronounced dead.

 

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and the Ballycoolin Rd is currently closed from the Premier Business Park to the Cappagh Road. This section of Road is expected to remain closed overnight.
