Robbery of service station in Waterford on the 17/12/13

Gardai in Waterford are investigating a robbery of a service station in Waterford on the 17th December 2013.

The robbery occurred at approximately 7.15pm on Park Road, Waterford, when two  raiders entered the premises and threatened staff and customers.  It is believed the raiders were in possession of a knife, they fled the scene on foot with a sum of cash.  One male customer was injured and has been taken to Waterford Regional Hospital.  His injuries are described as non life threatening.


During a follow up search of an apartment in Waterford city centre, two males in their 20's were arrested and are being detained at Tramore Garda station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended.  A sum of cash was recovered at this apartment.


Gardai in Waterford are appealing for witnesses to the robbery or anyone who may have seen unusual or suspicious activity around the service station on Park Road around 7pm is asked to contact Waterford Garda station on 051 305300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
