Fatal Incident at Mullingar, Westmeath on the 18/12/13

Gardaí at Mullingar are investigating an incident which occurred on the Balllymahon Road near the Greenpark Meadow Housing Estate (Mullingar) at approximately 4.05pm today (18/12/13).

A tree fell on a car driven by a 23 year old female (only occupant) at the above location. The injured female was taken to Mullingar General Hospital by Ambulance and was pronounced dead at 5.30pm this evening. 
 

The road is currently closed to facilitate a Garda investigation. Diversions are in place.
