Gardai targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Waterford area have seized drugs and arrested a female.
As part of a planned operation Gardai from the Waterford Divisional Drug Unit searched a house at Coppinger Court, Powerscourt, Waterford at approximately 4pm yesterday.
During the search cannabis plants, at various stages of growth, with an estimated street value of up to €170,000 (pending analysis) and cannabis herb with an estimated street value of up to €300,000 (pending analysis) were discovered in an elaborate grow house.
A female in her 40’s was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at Tramore Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
The scene is currently preserved for a technical examination.
