Court Appearance - Attempted Post Office robbery in Clonsilla, Dublin on the 16/12/13

The two men arrested today in connection with an attempted armed robbery in Clonsilla (Press Release attached refers) are expected to appear before Blanchardstown District Court in the morning (17/12/13)

They are charged in connection with this incident.

Two males have been arrested by Gardai following an attempted armed robbery in Clonsilla earlier today, 16th December 2013.

At approximately 10.20 a.m. two males armed with a handgun and a hammer entered a Post Office on the Clonsilla Road. They threatened and held up staff before leaving the scene empty handed on a motorcycle.


Following a search operation members of the Garda Traffic Corps and Regional Support Unit intercepted a motorcycle and arrested two males on the M6 near Kilbeggan Co. Westmeath shortly before 11 a.m.


Both males, who are aged in their 20s, are currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939, at Blanchardstown Garda Station.
