Gardaí at Mayfield in Cork investigating the death of a 36 year old male have today arrested a 27 year old man in connection with this incident.
The man was arrested in Dublin City and is currently detained at Clondalkin Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 – Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Gardai in Mayfield are appealing for witnesses following the discovery of an unconscious male at Patrick’s Quay in Cork City on the 3rd October 2013.
At 22.05 hours on Thursday 3rd October 2013 a 36-year-old male was found in a collapsed state at Patricks Quay Cork. He was taken by ambulance to the Cork University Hospital in a critical condition. The man subsequently died on the 5th October 2013.
Gardai are investigating the circumstances of his discovery and are appealing for witnesses who may have been in the Patrick's Quay area between 9p.m and 10.30p.m on 3rd October 2013 to contact Mayfield Garda Station 021 4558510 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
