Aggravated burglary and arrest in Limerick on the 2/12/13

Gardaí at Henry Street are investigating an aggravated burglary and assaults which occurred in an apartment at Lower Glentworth Street at approximately 1.20am this morning.

A lone male entered the apartment and assaulted two male occupants, both injured males (22 yrs & 23 yrs) received stab wounds  (injuries not life threatening). Property including cash and mobile phones were stolen during the incident. 
 

Both injured men were taken to University Hospital in Limerick.

 
In follow up operation Gardaí arrested a 34 year old man nearby in connection with this incident. He is currently detained at Henry Street Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4, Criminal Justice Act, 1984. 
 

Some property was also recovered during this operation.

 
Investigations are continuing.
