Drug seizures and arrest - Operation Nitrogen, 29/8/13

As a follow on to Operation Nitrogen, Gardai in the Dublin Region, under the control of Assistant Commissioner John Twomey, carried out a series of searches to combat the sale and supply of drugs.

This morning, as part of intelligence lead searches, Gardai searched twenty premises in the greater Dublin area. 
 

In the course of these searches, Gardai seized a total of €100,000 worth of cannabis plants. A small quantity of cocaine was also seized. Gardai are satisfied that the plants were grown in eleven of the premises and cannabis manufacturing was taking place in nine of the eleven premises. 
 

Seven males were arrested as part of this operation and are all being detained under Section 2 - Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996. 
 

Seven males arrested in total and detained at:


1 - Clondalkin Garda Station

1 - Blanchardstown Garda Station,

1 - Donnybrook Garda Station

2 - Bray Garda Station

2 - Bridewell Garda Station.
