Arrests following cash in transit robbery Templeogue 27.04.13 - Update

The two females that were detained in connection with the investigation of a cash in transit robbery at the Orwell Shopping Centre have been released without charge late last night.

Two males remain in custody.

Gardai have arrested 4 people following a cash in transit robbery at the Orwell Shopping Centre, Templeogue yesterday afternoon.  

At approximately 4.15pm two males, one armed with what was described as a firearm, confronted a security worker as he was making a cash collection at the Orwell Shopping Centre. They escaped with a sum of money in a jeep which was found abandoned at the Spawell Car Park a short time later. There were no injuries or shots discharged.  

In a follow up operation last night Gardai stopped a car in the Finglas area and arrested two males and two females ranging in ages from their 20’s to early 30’s. They are currently detained at Terenure and Rathmines Garda Stations under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
