As part of an ongoing investigation Gardai from the Cork & Limerick Drugs Units assisted by local units carried out a search operation this afternoon.
During the operation Gardai searched a car on the Boreenmanna Road in Cork and seized cannabis resin with an estimated street value of €600,000 (pending analysis). T wo males, aged in their 40s and 50s, were arrested and are currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at the Bridewell Garda Station.
In a follow up operation Cannabis resin and herb with an estimated street value of €900,000 (pending analysis) was seized when gardai searched a house also in Cork City. A male aged in his 50s was arrested and is detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Drug Trafficking Act, 1996, at Togher Garda Station.
