False imprisonment at Ashcroft Estate Raheny on the 13th March 2005

Gardai in Raheny investigating the False imprisonment of a family in Raheny on the 13th/14th of March 2005 have arrested a 49 year old man in Amsterdam today the 5th Oct 2012. (Press Release from 2005 refers)

The man was arrested on foot of a European Arrest warrant and conveyed to Dublin Airport. He was taken to Raheny Garda station where he was charged in connection with the false imprisonment in 2005. He is expected to appear before Dublin District Court 44 (Bridewell) tomorrow morning the 6th of October at 10.30am

Gardai are renewing their appeal for anyone with information on the robbery and kidnapping on 13.03.05. They are appealing for information on vehicles believed to have been used during the incident. They are specifically looking for information on people or vehicles in the following areas and times:

Ashcroft housing estate, Raheny on Sunday 13.03.05 and in particular information on a small dark coloured car possibly similar to a Fiat Stilo.

Strawberry Beds and Anglers Rest area of Lucan Monday 14.03.05, Gardai are seeking information in relation to two vehicles seen in that area, another small dark hatchback car possibly a Honda Civic and a white Transit Van. Anyone who was in these areas on the dates are asked to contact the Incident Room in Santry on 6664000.
