Gardaí from Ballyfermot and Clondalkin Garda station have arrested 40 people in the past 3 weeks for involvement in the sale and supply of heroin, crack cocaine and other controlled drugs.

As a result 20 people have appeared in court today charged in relation to this operation – 17 Adults and 3 Juveniles. Over 150 charges have already been preferred against those arrested as part of a major Garda investigation into Drug Trafficking in the Ballyfermot and Clondalkin Districts.

‘Operation Klaxon’ commenced in March of this year and has been a covert operation which has dismantled a number of drug distribution networks operating in West Dublin. The Drugs Units based at Ballyfermot and Clondalkin Garda stations working closely with the Garda National Drug Unit gathered evidence against significant targets all of whom are expected to face multiple charges of drug supply.

During the course of searches carried out in the past three weeks further amounts of controlled drugs have also been seized. The focus of this operation has been to gather evidence against significant drug dealers in the Ballyfermot and Clondalkin areas and to ensure that these persons are brought before the courts.
