Fatal road traffic collision close to Ennis, Clare on the 18/11/12

Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision at Ballylion, Barefield close to Ennis Co. Clare shortly before 4.00 pm on the 18th November 2012.

A single car with two female occupants crashed on the northbound lane of the M18.  A woman in her 20's was pronounces dead at the scene and the second woman, believed to be in her 40's, received minor injuries.

The northbound carriageway is closed to traffic and diversions are in place. The southbound carriageway remains open.
