Drug seizure and arrests in Rathcormac, Cork on the 19/11/12

As part of an ongoing operation to tackle the cultivation, distribution and supply of Cannabis and other controlled substances in the Munster Region.

Gardai from the Garda National Drugs Unit Dublin Castle, Anglesea Street and Fermoy Detective units searched a warehouse at Rathcormac, Fermoy, Co. Cork on the 19th November 2012.  During the course of the search Gardai discovered approximately 800 cannabis plants with a total street value of €640,000 (pending analysis).

 
The scene has been sealed off and is being technically examined.

 
Five males (in their 20's and 30's) were arrested and are being detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 as amended at Fermoy, Middleton and Cobh Garda stations.
