Two males charged in connection with drug seizure in Donegal on the 15/5/12

Gardai from Ballyshannon investigating the seizure of a large quantity of cannabis plants at a warehouse in Trummon, Laghey, Co. Donegal yesterday the 25th May 2012, have charged two males who will appear before a special sitting of Sligo District Court tonight the 26th May at 9am.

As part of ongoing operation by Gardai from Ballyshannon, Co Donegal assisted by the Garda National Drug Unit, a large quantity of cannabis plants were seized at a premises Laghey, Co. Donegal with an estimated street value of €1.6 million(subject to analysis).

The plants(2,000) were part of an elaborate growing operation and were seized as part of planned search at a warehouse in Trummon, Laghey, Co. Donegal today 25th May 2012.

Two men were arrested at the scene, (1 in 30's, 1 in 40's) and both are are currently detained at Ballyshannon Garda Station under Section 2 Criminal Justice( Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 as amended.
