Following a planned search operation today (27/5/12) in Limerick in relation to Fridays Drugs Seizure (Press Release attached) a premises was searched in the Limerick area and the following items recovered:
A quantity of hand grenades
Two pistols
Approximately 400 rounds of ammunition.
The Defence Forces EOD team attended the scene.
The two men arrested in connection with the drugs seizure appeared before a special sitting of Limerick District Court at 2.30pm today. They have both been remanded in custody.

As a result of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Limerick area Detectives from Henry Street stopped two vehicles and searched premises in the Limerick area yesterday evening (25/5/12).
During the course of this search Cannabis Resin with a potential street value of approximately €1.5m was seized – subject to analysis.
Two men (30’s & 40’s) were arrested and are currently detained at Henry Street and Roxoboro Road Garda Stations under Section 2 Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
Investigations are continuing.
