Fatal road traffic collision at Slane, Meath on the 28/3/12

Gardai in Navan are investigating the circumstances of a fatal road traffic collision on the N2 between Slane and Collon on the 28th March 2012.

The collision between two cars occurred at approx. 12.10am on the 28th March 2012 at Glasallen, Collon approx 3 miles north of Slane.  There were two males(in their 20's) in one car they were seriously injured and taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where one male was later pronounced dead.  The other male is in a serious condition in hospital.

 
There was a male and female from the second car also taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda but their condition is described as non life threatening.

 
The road is still closed to facilitate a Forensic collision examination and diversions are in place.
