Witness appeal to a burglary at Inverin, Galway on the 30/7/12

Gardai in Spiddal are investigating an aggravated burglary which occurred at a shop (Siopa An Phobail) at Inverin, Co. Galway on the 30th July 2012.

At approximately 23.30hrs on the 30/7/12 a man described as being 5’11’’ in height of stocky build and wearing a black balaclava and black clothing, approached the shop worker as he was entered his own car (a black Toyota Starlet 94 D registration) at the car park of the Poitin Still public house.  He was forced to drive from the carpark to Siopa An Phobail in Inverin.  The suspect is reported as having hand gun.

 
The shop worker was forced to open the shop following which the culprit escaped with an undisclosed sum of money in the Black Toyota Starlet which was later found at Bohoona, Spiddal.  The shop worker was not injured. 
 

Gardai wish to appeal for witnesses that may have noticed anything unusual or suspicious around the car park at the Poitin Still, at Siopa An Phobail or the movements of the Black Toyota Starlet around the time of the incident to contact Salthill Garda Station on 091- 514720, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
