Robbery in Creggs, Galway on the 23/7/12 - 3 arrests

Gardaí are investigating an attempted robbery at shop/post office in Creggs, Galway on Monday, the 23rd July 2012 at approximately 12.45pm.

Two men wearing masks entered the shop and threatened staff.  One of the men was armed with what is believed to be a firearm (shotgun).  No items or cash was taken during the incident and the men fled the scene in a black SUV in the direction of the Glenamaddy Road.


No shots were fired and nobody was physically injured during the incident.


As part of the investigation, Gardaí in Galway arrested three men (all in their 30s) yesterday 25th July 2012 at approximately 4.30pm in the Ballyhaigue area of Galway in relation to the incident.


Two of the men are detained at Ballinasloe Garda Station and one man is detained at Galway Garda Station. All three man are detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.
