Murder of John Forrester on the 15/11/11 - Arrests

Gardai in Bandon investigating the murder of John Forrester after the discovery of his body in the River Bandon on the 15th November 2011 have arrested a male (37yrs) and a female (35yrs) on the morning of the 28th January 2012 in connection with the incident.

They are both being detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended at Bandon Garda station.

Gardai have made contact with the family members of John Forrester in Blackpool and Lincoln, England who have confirmed his identity. A Family Liaison Officer has been appointed. We wish to thank the media for their assistance in this matter.

Gardaí wish to renew their appeal to any person who may have information or who may have seen anything suspicious in the general area between 8pm on Saturday 12th November and 12 midnight on Sunday 13th November to contact the Incident Room Bandon on 023-8852200, or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111 or any Garda Station.

Gardai at Bandon Co.Cork, investigating the discovery of a second body in the River Bandon on the 15th November 2011 believe the victim to be John Forrester, originally from the United Kingdom, date of birth 05-04-1969.

It is still unclear which part of the UK John originates from. (It is believed he may have come from the Blackpool area.) As part of this murder investigation Gardai are anxious to make contact with the family of the deceased. 

Gardai are appealing for anyone with information surrounding the death of John or anyone who may have information as where he was originally from or family details should contact Gardai at Bandon on 023-8852200, or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
