Fatal road traffic collision in Cork on the 29/9/11

Gardai at Mayfield are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the Ballyhooley Road, Ballyvolane, Cork.

At approximately 1pm a male pedestrian, aged in his 30s, was fatally injured when he was struck by an articulated lorry. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road is closed pending a technical examination and diversions are in place.
