Gardaí at Abbeyleix are seeking the public’s assistance in relation to a serious assault which occurred in Rathdowney on Sunday morning, 30th October 2011.
At approximately 2am on Moore Street a 31 year old man was set upon by a number of males and assaulted. During the course of the assault this man sustained serious head injuries. He was taken to Portlaoise General Hospital but subsequently transferred to Beaumont where he remains in a stable condition.
Two (2) men were arrested yesterday morning, 30th October 2011, in relation to the incident and released without charge later in the day. They are aged 31 and 34 years.
