Serious assault in Roscommon on the 10/11/11

Gardai are investigating the discovery of a body of a man aged in his 40's in the sea at the Cliffs of Moher on the 9th November 2011 at 4 p.m.

The body was retrieved by Doolin Coast Guard removed to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick where a post mortem will be conducted. 
 

In trying to establish the identity of this man, Gardai in Roscommon searched a house at Anvil Court this morning at 1a.m. 10th November, 2011 and discovered a female in her 50s who had been assaulted.  She was removed to Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe for treatment. 
 

Both matters are being fully investigated by Gardai.
