Gardaí at Edgeworthstown are appealing for witnesses in relation to a serious assault which occurred at Tinnynarr, Edgeworthstown, Longford at approximately 10am on Wednesday, 23rd November 2011.
A female in her late teens was seriously assaulted in a field at the above location which is on the Longford side of Edgeworthstown . She was taken to the Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar and treated for her injuries. A male in his 30’s was arrested and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Longford Garda Station in relation to this incident and has since been released without charge.
