Post office robbery at Tyrellspass on the 25/11/11

Gardaí at Mullingar investigating a robbery which occurred at the Post Office in Tyrrellspass at approximately 9.30am on the 25th November 2011 have charged 2 men.

They will appear before a sitting of Court 44 Bridewell Dublin 7 this morning at 10.30am   the 26th November 2011.

Gardaí at Mullingar Co Westmeath are investigating a robbery which occurred at the Post Office in Tyrrellspass at approximately 9.30am this morning (25/11/11) 
 

Two men entered the Post Office armed with a knife and a sledgehammer, they threatened staff and demanded cash. Both men left the premises with an undisclosed amount of cash. There were no injuries sustained by any staff members.  

In a follow up operation Gardaí arrested two men ( both in their 20’s). They are both detained at Mullingar Garda Station under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act 1939.  

Cash and implements used in the robbery have also been recovered.
