Gardai in Blessington are investigating the circumstances of a fatal road traffic collision in Blessington, Co Wicklow on the 14th November 2011.
The collision occurred at approximately 5.40pm on the N81, the Baltinglass side of the village of Blessington, between a car and a pedestrian, a 9 year old girl. The child was seriously injured and taken to Naas General Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The road is currently closed to facilitate a forensic collision examination and local diversions are in place.
