Drug seizure at Navan, Meath on the 25/5/11

As part of an intelligence led investigation members of the Garda National Drugs Unit and Revenue's Customs Officers assisted by Meath and Kildare Drug Units seized 22 kilos of Cocaine with an estimated street value of €1.5 million (subject to analysis) in the underground car park of an apartment complex in Navan last night ,the 25th May 2011.

During the course of a follow up search in an apartment in the same complex Gardai found a further seven kilos of cocaine (subject to analysis) and a one kilo of heroin (also subject to anaylsis) with an approximate street value of €500,000.  Sterling cash in excess of £50,000 was also seized. 

Three males aged 31, 34 and 36 years were arrested and are currently detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice ( Drug Trafficking ) Act 1996, two prisoners at Kells and one at Finglas Garda stations.
