Fatal road traffic collision at Bruff, Limerick on the 22/3/11

Gardai in Bruff, Limerick are investigating a fatal two vehicle road traffic collision at Ballyfookeen, Bruree, Limerick on the N20 (Limerick to Cork Road) at approximately 6.25am on the 22/3/11.

A male (34yrs) was fatally injured when the van he was driving collided with a lorry on the Limerick to Cork Road (N20) approx. 2 miles outside Charleville.  He was pronounced  dead at Limerick Regional Hospital. He was the sole occupant of the van.

The driver of the lorry received minor injuries and was also taken to Limerick Regional Hospital.

The road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.

Witnesses are asked to contact the Gardai in Bruff on 061 940382 or any Garda Station.
